Assessment before parts replacement

Send the brand, full model number, screen size and a short description of the fault. Similar symptoms can have different causes, so the repair decision follows inspection and testing rather than a guess from a photograph.

TV not switching on

Describe whether the standby light is on, flashing or completely off. A technician may need to test the supply, standby circuit, main board and connected equipment. Unplug a set that smells burnt, sparks or repeatedly trips protection; do not open the cabinet.

Sound but no picture, lines or flickering

A dark picture with sound may involve backlights, their power supply or the display signal path. Lines and half-screen faults may instead involve the panel, connections or processing boards. A cracked display generally requires a panel quotation rather than a surface repair.

Backlight repairs on LED and LCD televisions

Backlight assessment considers the LED strips, driver circuit and panel condition. Where strip replacement is suitable, the quotation should identify compatible parts, labour and any repair warranty. OLED televisions do not use LED backlight strips.

Smart TV, HDMI, Wi-Fi and audio faults

Check whether the fault occurs on all sources or only one app, decoder or HDMI input. Provide the software version if available and list any recent updates. Software, network, ports and board faults require different remedies.

Brands and television types

Enquiries are accepted for Samsung, LG, Hisense, Sony, TCL, Skyworth, Sinotec, Telefunken, JVC and AIM televisions. Send the exact model to check repair suitability and parts availability. Brand names identify the equipment; no manufacturer authorisation is claimed.

What the TV repair quotation covers

Assessment arrangements, any diagnostic or collection fee, parts availability and the proposed work should be agreed before repair approval. Ask how a fee applies if you decline the repair. A final price cannot be established from screen size alone.

When replacement may be more practical

Compare the complete repair price with the age, condition and replacement value of the television. Panel damage, obsolete parts or several independent faults may make replacement preferable. Approve repairs only after the scope and terms are clear.

Arrange an assessment

Send equipment details, photos and your location. Appointment availability, access, diagnostic charges and approved work are confirmed before the visit.
